This Week in Music History – James Brown records “Live at the Apollo” | SCH Time Machine

The Legendary James Brown (born in Barnwell, SC), recorded the incredible “Live at the Apollo” album on October 24th, 1962. The album was released in May of 1963 and quickly became one of the more influential live performances of the era.

The album was listed as no. 24 in Rolling Stones magazine’s 2003 list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
