Inauguration Day interrupted by Suffragists in 1913 | SCH TimeMachine

In honor of Inauguration Day 2017, we thought we would showcase how controversy has always followed new leadership into office. In 1913, Suffragists marched on Washington from New York in order for their voices to be heard. A total of 234 miles were walked over 17 days. Inspirational images that prove movements of change always begin with community organization and the desire for basic rights.
